Helping make the Web a brighter place

About

Becoming a Web Developer

About ten years ago my friend Burt introduced me to Web site design. Those were my college days and I already had my trajectory set. Four years I worked in the social services field. I gained tremendous experience in the time, but was unhappy with the way things ran. A move to east Texas changed all of that. An opportunity came up for me to work for an organization on their Web site. Once I began doing it professionally, I realized this was really up my alley.

Pursuing Something Better

For several years I toyed with Web technology, putting together sites for friends and learning about programming and design for the Web. In 2009 I enrolled in a college Web program to pursue my BS in IT. A senior, I am ready to relaunch my career in Web application development. Some folks hire a Web designer or Webmaster to build their site. A professional Web application developer understands the ins and outs of good design and the processes to most efficeintly build the site the client needs.

Creating Bright Solutions

My slogan, “Helping make the Web a brighter place,” expresses my desire to produce content that educates and inspires people on the Web. Civic groups, nonprofits, ministries, and public interest groups add to our communities. Unfortunately, they often lack the wherewithall to build good Web sites they can maintain. With experience in this field and a desire to enhance the public discourse with good content, I look foward to working with organizations to get their message on the Web.
